Widefield deep image of Thor's Helmet

Now that it's official that the 110GTX did not discover a new PN, here is the image of Thor's Helmet taken yesterday:

The PN at the top looks quite prominent, but is actually extremely faint. The field around Thor's Helmet is almost all H-a and needed a large amount of stretching to even show up.

Wow

I don't think I've ever seen Thor's Helmet like this before. That nebula is sweet too, even if it wasn't a new one.

Oh well.  Keep looking.

I just love this part of the sky.  I think some of the most beautiful star fields are in Canis Major.  I never get tired of imaging the area.
