Mount parked at the beginning of a new session

Stephane Charbonnel

Hello,

I don't understand how to manage the "unpark" at the beginning of a new session with APCC.

When I power off, my mount is parked. At the next session, when I power on, I just would like mount be parked (and don't move).

So, I have used : in the menu Initialize APM : Unpark from "Don't Unpark" because I don't want mount be unparked. If I use "last parked", Mount is unparked at the beginning of a new session. If I choose "Don't unpark", I have a message "Don't unpark" -> "last unpark". I thought it was good but I realized it is not the unpark option of the tab "Park" which is changed to "last unpark" in order planetarium software via ASCOM could unpark the mount. This last is at "Don't unpark" so external software cannot unpark the mount. It is the case "Park" of the menu "initialize APM" which is changed to "last parked". So, for the new next session, mount automatically unpark.

Please, could you tell me how I must use options in order mount stay parked and don't move at the beginning of a new session (the last session ended with a parked mount at a position decided by planetarium software). All my sessions are automatic and I don't have to click anywhere.

Thank you
Regards
Stephane

Hi Brian,

I have seen video but I leave the yellow window to close itself. So it is as same as I click on "Cancel". What mislead me is that in the "Park" tab, even if "Unpark" is defined at "Don't Unpark", this does not prevent the planetarium software to unpark correctly. In fact, I think this "Park" tab must be forgotten if I manage parking with planetarium software ...

Stephane

"Don't Unpark" does not prevent ASCOM programs, like your planetarium, from unparking the mount. It just keeps the mount parked until unparked by you, or by your planetarium program.
