Mach 2 & Tak TOA130NFB

Michael

I currently own a Mach 2 & use a Tak TSA120 for imaging. I now have the opportunity of buying a Tak TOA130NFB and making that my imaging scope, and using the TSA120 as my visual scope.

Looking at the graphs for my Mach 2, it looks like the mount is more than capable of carrying the extra weight of the TOA130 (22lbs vs 15lbs for the TSA120 + imaging gear), but was keen to hear from anyone on the forum that currently has this setup. Just to be clear, I’m obviously not intending to mount OTA’s both at the same time 🤣

Wishing everyone a happy new year and clear skies!

I've run the TOA150 on the Mach 2 with no problems.

You probably could mount both scopes on there and still be fine.

I dont have a Tak 130, but I am using an AP130GTX on my Mach2.  I image unguided and it handles it with no problems at all.  I'm also very critical of my stars, and the Mach2 delivers pinpoint perfect tracking.  You are good to go...

BTW-  I've heard that the new 645 flattener is absolutely amazing with the TOA line of scopes.

Thanks Bill & Chris….appreciate the advice

I run this exact setup with superb results. I get pinpoint stars guided without a model. Edge to edge tack sharp stars.

Make sure you get the 645 flattener. People rave about it and for good reason.

On my Mach1GTO I have a TOA130-NFB with Optec Focuslynx, ZWO 7x2" EFW, OAG-L, and ASI6200MM.  It works very well.

I use the FLAT-67 or 0.7x  reducer depending on target and mood.  The 645 flattener is better than the 67, but wasn't available when I bought. On the plus side the FLAT-67 has a 90mm image circle.

I've had a TOA130 with a guidescope (90 mm) on a Mach1 for that matter, with a similar imaging train as mentioned above. I would think Mach2 wouldn't even notice it. Go for it.
