Leo Triplet with thanks to my AP1100AE
Linwood Ferguson
A special nod goes out to the AP1100AE. I got about 50 hours of data on this, including 7 remote, and not one sub needed to be discarded due to eccentricity or trailing (a LOT of subs were discarded due to FWHM, clouds, etc.) Hope the mount makes it eligible to post here.
It's nice when something "just works". Most of this actually comes from 7 hours remote, the 40+ hours under B7 added very little (though the Ha is from there). I kept it so I can at least pretend not to have wasted all that time in the backyard. Interesting to me is the background and the incredible number of little spiral galaxies (I suspect a lot of non-spirals and face-on spirals that just look like stars as well). Go to the full resolution and take a look (it's around 0.62"/px). Though I am proud to see some tidal tail on NGC 3628). The OTA may not be AP, but the SVX152T did a pretty good job in some good seeing, despite swarms of mosquitos screwing up transparency (imaging in a swamp - the dark site literally in the Everglades). @VictoryPete
Hi Linwood,
I am inspired by your images. I am new to astrophotography, and I am on the list for the AP1100, as well as on the lottery for the new 110. I am going to NEAF and look forward to checking out the Astro Physics booth and will also see Vic who will have the SVX152T that sat unopened in my garage for a day. He said I would not be disappointed. VP |

Of course I image, my SVX152T is still an eyepiece virgin, so I also did not have good context for all the visual comments. It really did hurt to see yours go back unopened, after I waited so long and anxiously for mine. While my skills might not live up to it especially in processing, between the 1100 guiding and the 152, getting images regularly in the low 1.x" FWHM certainly like pretty decent glass and finishing, whether red or green measured. You'll love the 1100 when they call you! Linwood |

Great image capture and processing, Linwood. Looks like you have used the SVX152 and the AP1100AE well.
