Just spoke with George at AP. Boy was I way off with that $600 figure! Replacing the cable and battery plus a firmware update costs nothing like that.

I hope you look after it better than the previous owner did based on the photo you attached - good grief what did the controller and mount look like!

I can't remember which controller and mount it goes with. I have two AP 1200 Goto mounts and a Parallax observatory mount that uses an AP Keypad and computer box, an AP 900 Goto and a Mach 1 (had two but sold one), all CP3 and two AP 600E Goto
mounts CP2. Most recently the keypad (which works fine by the way) was being used with the Parallax observatory mount.

There was a thread about the keypad cables not too long ago. It seems like there may have been a bad batch of cables that came from the supplier that the outer sheath was becoming extremely brittle. It looks like Jim has one of these. Hopefully, the replacement cable will hold up.
I am keeping a watchful eye on my cable on the end that attaches to the keypad. Mike |
