Hello everyone, I am a brand new astrophysics 1100 GTO owner, and I’m having some trouble with the point modeling software and was hoping for some advice about correct settings.
I use sequence generator pro for my shooting software and my plate solver is ASTAP.
I’ve got the plate solving working very well when I’m using sequence generator, but when I try and use it while making the map it fails every time. I’m assuming I’ve got some setting wrong that controls communication between the point mapper and sequence generator.
Can anybody suggest some settings?

Check your arc-sec/pixel settings in the “Plate Solve Settings” tab. Sometimes I forget to put in/update the correct value when I change cameras. Also, if you are using a larger camera, such as an APS-C camera or a full frame camera, I have learned that I get more reliable operation if I have the subframe set to “1/2 x 1/2 Center” in the camera settings tab.

Dean,
Thanks for your reply. I had those set like that already at the suggestion of Tech Support at AP but was able to have success by having the "All Sky" button checked which worked when primary plate solving didn't (which was all the time). Nevertheless I was able to get a 97 point map with only 3 failures. Guiding improved a good notch from 0.5-0.7 to .03-0.5 arc-sec. Thanks for your input, Bill |
