APPM model of only a portion of the sky

Worsel

Is there any value in developing a model in just a portion of the sky, if the planned imaging targets for a few days are in that section only?. This would allow a more dense model but take less time.  For example, model and image east of the meridian when a first quarter moon is in the west

Thanks!

Hi Bryan,

I have done that moore than once. You habe take minimal two rows in APPM.

Yes, there will be some benefit to that. That said, optimally you should be able to get up to about 3 sky points per minute using APPM with the right settings. If you start before the sky is completely dark you should be able to get at least 30-40 points per pier side.
