AP1100 AE Lost in spsce - how set Park3
Shailesh Trivedi
In the past Park 3 "just worked" but last night on two occasions, once while running Horizons and once after an APPM run, the mount's DEC was pointing to the rear of the mount instead of the true Park3. I wonder why it happened. I have after-market encoders but that is hardly the point.
Other than loosening the clutches to get it back to Park3, is there another way to reset Park3? Shailesh |

Hi Sheilesh >>>I have after-market encoders but that is hardly the point. are these AP encoders or something else? Seems like that could make a difference The only way I know for your mount is to loosen clutches, move to park 3, and then unpark from park 3 Then of course you'll want to slew, solve, and recal at your target (or other sky position) On Sat, Jan 21, 2023 at 12:40 PM Shailesh Trivedi <shailesh.trivedi@...> wrote: In the past Park 3 "just worked" but last night on two occasions, once while running Horizons and once after an APPM run, the mount's DEC was pointing to the rear of the mount instead of the true Park3. Thanks Brian, yes I bought the encoders from AP.

The encoders have nothing to do with what you are experiencing.
You or one of your 3rd party apps is telling the mount something wrong. If you want to can George at AP on Monday, he can help you straighten out what's happening with your various softwares and your methods.

Reporting back.
I am not sure which program threw me off the park 3. I think it happened right after I used Horizons, but it could be The SkyX. Nonetheless, I used the ASCOM driver's NSEW buttons to get back to park 3, then restarted using un-park from park 3 (instead of last parked) both in APCC and the ACOM driver. Also in TSX I used clear park and set park. I am not sure what did the trick but now the mount parks in park 3 Shailesh |

>>> Also in TSX I used clear park and set park. I am not sure what did the trick but now the mount parks in park 3 Just to confirm, you are using ASCOM within TSX for connecting your AP mount, not the built-in drivers, correct? Yes, Brian. I am using ACOM within TSX to connect to the AP mount and not the built in drivers.
