Not sure what number the update was, but the Windows 10 update of about two weeks ago instantly wiped out my machine, leaving me with nothing but a generic factory desktop. All my programs were gone, as well as all my files. I had to have a complete operating system reinstall done. Thank goodness my files are backed up with Carbonite, but that still necessitated downloading hundreds of gigs of data, downloading all my programs again, along with having to reconfigure all of them. I am just now back to normal. I live in terror of Windows updates. Gregory B Miller |

160GB of free space. I don’t think that’s the problem but a good reminder to always check.

Plenty of free disk space?

This morning I allowed Windows to run updates on one of my two imaging systems and it turns out that it updated Windows 10 to Feature version 22H2. Tonight, APCC become unstable and unresponsive, with constant crashes and sluggish performance. It generated a lot of error messages "FindFreeQakIndex: no free entries and disconnected from the AP V2 ASCOM driver. The behavior was made worse when I connected the driver to SGP but it also failed to Park/Unpark the mount when APCC was running by itself.
I use Virtual Ports to connect the driver and moved to the REST API, but it didn't make any difference. Ultimately, I realized that I could backtrack the Windows 10 22H2 feature update and proceeded to uninstall the update. I am now back to Windows 10 21H1 and everything went back to working without a hitch. My other imaging system is running Windows 10 21H2 and it's running smoothly. I am curious if this is an environmental problem with my setup or if other people have had issues with this feature update. Luca |
