API setup

Jim Crumly

I tried to set put a short cut on my desk top
I then set everything up for API and it would not create a API port on APCC startup.
Thanks to Brian Valente and TeamVewer, Brian was able to correct my mis-deads with the setup of the app shortcut for APCC on the desktop.
it was calling the wrong source for APCC.
its all working now so Im now a very happy camper.
Thanks Again Brian.

Stupid man question.   Do applications that depend on the AP driver still run off the virtual ports.  I am thinking of The Sky X of course and others.  I don't quite understand the concept of the Rest API.  I do think I understand that this is the way that the APCC communicates with the mount utilizing a local port.   Sorry for the ignorance.  If anyone has a question about watershed modeling or master planned community design, I can help.

Emilio

virtual ports or rest api is really about the ASCOM driver to APCC connection, so that is hidden from apps that connect via ascom driver (TSX, NINA, etc.)

Glad it's working Jim

just to clarify, instead of copying a shortcut to APCC on his desktop, he moved the app to the desktop. It should definitely stay in it's program folder!
