Lovely! Is it my tired eyes (up way too early for the Lunar Eclipse) but the bright stars have diffraction spikes? Did you put string over the objective? Or add them in post? Or am I imagining it? Stuart Heggie

I can't speak to what you imagine "pre-coffee" but the kaf8300 chip does produce a little diffraction spike,, cause by microlens diffraction.

You can usually avoid this selecting a different algorithm for integration, but it is a trade off with resolution. Very nice field, even if the b&w version already had is charm. Il giorno mar 8 nov 2022 alle 14:28 Chris White <chris.white@...> ha scritto:

Chris, thanks. I didn't think through that it was a OSC camera and forgot about the microlens flares. I'm so used to mono + filterwheel. Oh! Maybe long ago my ST10XME had micro lenses now that I think about it more. Thanks Chris! Stuart Heggie On Tue, 8 Nov 2022 at 18:55, Chris White <chris.white@...> wrote: On Tue, Nov 8, 2022 at 10:37 AM, Stuart wrote: |
