Yes, it requires windows. And virtually all capture software options (SGP, NINA, Voyager, etc) as well.
Your best option as a Mac user is to get a cheap laptop pc or a NUC for capture and then control it remotely from the Mac. And fortunately most of the processing software is available Mac. That's what I do.
