I tried the link, but it drops long before the transfer is complete (about .8 GB). But it did motivate me to look for other sources - Found another link to a DropBox at the following link: https://forums.dc3.com/showthread.php?4694-Downloading-and-Using-PinPoint-Reference-Catalogs-(Updated-April-2021) Managed to get a copy from there. Looks like it's pointless to attempt to download star catalogs from ftp.nofs.navy.mil links. Clear Skies, Dan |

This page (although it’s about UCAC4) has a link to download the USNO A2.0 catalog. It’s towards the bottom of the page.

Hoping someone can walk me through downloading USNO A2.0 catalog using FileZilla. I put in ftp://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/usnoa/ for the Host, anonymous for the Username, my email address for the Password, and 21 for the Port. I then click Quickconnect and get the error message: Status: Resolving address of ftp.nofs.navy.mil Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known". Error: Could not connect to server |
