I was playing some more with counterweight up positions, and it struck me that just as serious aerobatic aircraft have to have special systems (pumps, etc.) for sustained inverted flight, I guess I have to make sure my telescope and gear are capable of functioning when inverted.  Maybe we should call this aerobatic astronomy.
