From the archives a while back there was official talk that a mobile app like Sky Safari would be able to communicate with the mount via APCC. Was this ever achieved or did the idea get abandoned?
This particular feature was forgotten rather than abandoned. However, before a new APCC feature can continue, A-P must approve it, so I can't promise anything.
