Andrew For clarification. I have also used the dovetail adapter that Bruce Donzanti showed in his photo, but on a different mount. It worked well. Sorry I didn’t notice the -AEL. My 1100 does not have encoders.

On the 1100AE the read head connection to the motor box will prevent you from installing the Polemaster camera onto the adapter.

Return it for the correct adapter. I bought one from telescopes.net and was sent one like you described. It was labeled AP-SM. I returned it and was sent the proper one that was threaded for the AP-900. like the photo that David Johnson shows.
