So what was your guide-rate set at for this particular adventure? And were you auto-guiding or manually guiding? I’d say that with such an old longboard, manual guiding would be more in keeping.

Since it was a long focal ratio board, around F15, I used multi-toenail guiding using the "dig in hard hang on tight" algorithm.

 At Waikiki the coral is just 4 - 5 ft below the water line, so it's not pleasant if you wipe out.Rolando

Actually, the wipe out photos were much funnier than this one. Those were lost long ago, so don’t ask for them. :^)
I have to say that the timing for this one was superb with Diamond Head perfectly positioned as a backdrop.
