Hi, thought I’d check in on the availability for people who have one on order. Are the keypads in between production runs and/or are they still backlogged. Just trying to manage my expectations on when I might receive one that is on order. Thanks

Our first goal is to release the new firmware for the GTOCP4, which we are nearly ready to do. The keypad update will be available sometime after that. The manual needs to be updated for the GTOCP4 since some aspects are different.

Marj, is there any advantage to using the new keypad on an upgraded CP4 over the original hand pad. I have both with a Mach 1 and a 1100GTO. Thanks for any advice you might send my way. Tom Fischer, INDy

We’ll have more comparative information when we are ready to release. One of the main advantages is that the startup routine is easier. It will also have some new features.

Yes, keypads with serial number 1568 and higher can download the new software. The function of FOC and RA DEC REV buttons has changed in the new program, so the buttons on the current keypads are labeled differently. You can simply use your current button pad and memorize the new functions or will have the opportunity to upgrade the button pad for an additional charge.
