Beautiful! You've drawn out so much texture above the HH - love it! Stuart Heggie On Tue, 7 Jul 2020 at 03:23, uncarollo2 <chris1011@...> via groups.io <chris1011=aol.com@groups.io> wrote: --

Beautifully shot, Rolando! It's also nice seeing work still being done with the older STL-11K's what with the wave of CMOS cameras entering the market!

Hi All,
Question arose about the image being wide field, and whether it was using the 130GTX. I had to go back to the original Fits files and found that the camera was not STL11K, rather it was the FLI 16803 with the 130GTX and Quad TCC in a custom modified rear assembly.
The scope was modified by Dennis DiCicco, we had worked together to determine the exact back focus needed to cover this big chip. The focuser was removed and replaced by an FLI focuser directly to the back of the scope. The image was a test image taken by Dennis to calibrate the distance for a flat field.
Dennis built two scopes which were to be used to produce mosaics of the Milky Way.

Some times a monochrome image is hard to beat! This is an excellent example…
