Fun with a One-shot-color CCD
eja24601
Hi all,
While I haven’t sent anything new in a while, it doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. Here are some of my images taken from our backyard with a one-shot-color CCD camera. Essentially, an astronomical camera set up to shoot in color like commercial cameras. I also thought I’d change the way I set up our website, changing it to more of a narrative with pictures than simply a picture show. Enjoy, and please let me know how you like this approach!

NICE - I switched to OSC after 2 years of mono and NB filters. Not going back yet... Can you tell which are which? https://www.flickr.com/photos/158199519@N08/?fbclid=IwAR0WLo2gGNzPk8PjY9VSDEQljSXdA7lxteHvXvyxMOkoxkwO2irTuBNgiEk On Mon, Jul 6, 2020 at 8:49 AM Stuart <stuart.j.heggie@...> wrote:

hehe ... I've been having fun with my old ST-4000XCM as well,
shooting through the light pollution of Los Angeles while not
leaving home. I never thought it was worth even trying, but my first
efforts turned out well enough that I decided I would do a Messier
survey from home. I've collected 47 Messiers now, grabbing 30
minutes of data from each. I'm not even bothering to take out the
sky glow gradient -- leaving them in as a badge of adversity.
In the process I've become significantly more adept at setup, alignment, point mapping, and processing. Usually the giveaway on an OSC image: there ain't much blue. I know I could pick out a few Ron. :) (I have a few favorites posted on my blog http://mojo.whiteoaks.com ) Mojo -- Morris Jones, Monrovia, CA BridgeMojo Old Town Sidewalk Astronomers Mojo's Blog On 7/6/2020 6:59 AM, Ron Kramer wrote:
