Using other side of right ascension drive gear
Thanks. I assume this can be done using APCC instead of the keypad?

Using other side of right ascension drive gear
A couple of years ago at NEAIC I heard someone, I think it was George, describe how to rotate the right ascension gear 180 deg so that it wears evenly on the opposite side. I have an A-P 1600 mount wi

92FF Backfocus
I got my Stowaway yesterday. BEAUTIFUL! Thanks to Roland, Marj, and Karen! Stay safe. I note that the 92FF flattener shows a required nominal backfocus of 64.1mm. Since the camera end of the flattener

Confusion With Dome Behavior.........Who To Ask?
Thanks Ray, this is indeed a complicated bit of geometry. So to be clear, if the weight is down and on the west side and the scope is on the east side pointing west (imaging a west of the meridian tar

Confusion With Dome Behavior.........Who To Ask?
Ray, I checked my ProDome driver setup and the settings are correct for my dome. The driver was written by Tim Long. I will experiment with APPM again when time permits and the moon is inhibiting deep

Confusion With Dome Behavior.........Who To Ask?
Forgot to add that the fact that it worked fine on the east side and not at all on the west side seemed to suggest that somehow the driver didn't know that the mount had flipped for western stars? Nev

Hi Ray, I know (knew) and fully understand what you're saying but this is still what happened over and over. All the geometry is properly entered in the ASCOM driver. It works perfectly with ACP. ACP

Thanks, I'm at 38 deg. latitude so I'm guesing it'll be an inch or so lower. ...just trying to calcuate the needed pier height. Doesn't have to be too precise.

APCC doesn't call dome closure?
Hi Ray, Thanks. Could you briefly explain the difference between the async park and the prior version? I downloaded it, and enabled async park.

APCC doesn't call dome closure?
Hi Ray, OK, thanks. But ACP was stalled waiting for the A-P ASCOM driver to report the scope parked. Can you look at the logs I've posted at the site I listed above. Thanks, Stacey

APCC occasionally loses contact with scope.
I believe that the CP4 allows a direct connection to a PC via an ethernet card, rather than connection through the LAN? It seems like this would eliminate the lost communication issue due to traffic "
