EXT startup only works via Serial Port?
Thanks Roland, I like the solution of setting Autoconnect=YES. The mount is now in a real observatory on a pier, so there is no need to leave it at NO like I used to. Then I can transparently run it w

CP4 WiFi disconnects from SkySafari on iPad
I notice something similar when running SkySafari on my Mac. I connects just fine, then after a while it disconnects. So far I’ve seen it with a direct USB connection and with wifi. Usually it doesn’t

I find that a very sensitive measure of balance can be obtained by measuring the current consumed by the mount when moving east vs west or north vs south. I run it at 64x. If you have the CP4 you can

boxes for 1200
Thanks Stan, Scott, and Kent. I'll be driving, so weight isn't an issue. But maybe 3/4" is overkill. I'll try the plastic tubs. Scott, those cases are beautiful! Thanks, Rick

Mounting an AP1200 on an 8" pier?
Should be OK. I use my 1200 on a LeSeur AstroPier, which is 8" for most of its length, expanding to 10" just at the top. It is bolted down, and does ok with a C14 on it. Yours won't be bolted down, bu
