APCC Pro version update
My workaround is to wait for Ray to announce updates here and then I update. Thanks Ray! I'm really not a Windows person and even with a brand new laptop, it exhibited the same behavior. I didn't want

Precise polar alignment of the azimuth axis
I agree that there's always flexure. I have moved to OAG for imaging and that's saved a lot of flexure headaches. But for PA if the flexure is minimal, i.e. PA error < 1 arc min with the guidescope as

Precise polar alignment of the azimuth axis
Actually there is a way to see whether your guide scope is flexing w.r.t. the mount with SharpCap (SC): Do the PA routine in SC as usual with the scope starting at Park 3. Adjust Alt and Az to get you

Full size image on Astrobin missing?
Hi Rolando, Just out of curiosity, why are there "cross" diffraction patterns from a refractor in the brighter stars? Is this from processing? cytan Ah thank you, that makes sense. Rolando

Preventing tracking on power up?
Hi Tom, I just don't let APCC auto-connect until I'm ready: My mount (Mach1GTO or AP1100) doesn't start tracking until I connect. Is this what you want? cytan

Stainless Steel Insert for Counterweight Shaft Threads
Hi Rolando, That's good to know. I'll get two when it's available. cytan No, not true. The bore size did not change, and all shafts will fit the new inserts. Rolando

Stainless Steel Insert for Counterweight Shaft Threads
Hi mhambrick I'd assume that that a we'll need to buy a new CW shaft because if the insert is screwed into the hole of the legacy mounts then its ID would be too small for the CW shaft to be screwed i

IC1848 narrowband with HA contributed by an OSC camera
Hi Joel, That's really interesting that you can use a Ha filter with an OSC. I assume the OSC sees the Ha as red in the OSC? What color do you map Ha to in your processing? cytan

Problem with PEMPRO polar alignment
And it'll be great if APCC/APPM eventually supports ASTAP. ASTAP is just a wickedly fast plate solver (and free). cytan

Takes hours for me to polar align with PemPro...Suggestions for my AP600e?
I should really read the title and the body of the message ... :) For whatever reason, my brain froze and I was thinking Rolando was following up on my PEC measurement query.

Takes hours for me to polar align with PemPro...Suggestions for my AP600e?
Hi Rolando, I'll keep and eyeball on that. There's not much to do on a Moonless, hazy night but to do PEC measurements. Another reason, I'm looking forward to my Mach2 so that I don't need to do this

Is it worth doing PEMPro PEC measurement when it is hazy?
Hi Ray or Rolando, It looks like it will be "clear" over the weekend but it'll be hazy from the smoke. Is it worth doing a PEC measurement for my Mach1GTO or not? cytan

Hi Rolando For the east or western horizon for altitude alignment, I assume that you mean that the location where scope should be pointing should be close to the equator (point A) and not just directl
