solar filters

900 GTO3
i use this one which has 2 serial port and I have a small 4 port usb hub (same brand) on the mount : usb to serial adapter (uses FTDI chipset, works on Windows, OS X and Linux) : http://www.amazon.com

Powered USB Hub
I recently re-did my data and power distribution on my mount using Powerwerx RIGrunner 4008H and a 30A 12v power supply (also from Powerwerx). And for the powered usb hub I used Startech 4 Port Rugged

PEC training my AP 900GTO on Mac OS X
Thanks Rolando. By autoguiding you mean using PHD (or any other guiding app) or by only using the keypad to maintain the star centered in my reticle eyepiece ? Regards, Rodolphe

PEC training my AP 900GTO on Mac OS X
The 900GTO come with an already trained PEC but as I upgraded to the S chip (from a Q chip), that PEC was “lost” (The S chip install state that I would need to redo the PEC training after the upgrade)

Your doc doesn’t seems right. On my 900GTP with CP3 the doc says to press the RA/Dec RE Button which bring another menu and there you’ll see the recalibrate option Hope this help Regards, Rodolphe --

Serial port connectivity issues
ATEN uses the PL2303 Prolific chipset (we have a few at the office … in a bin in the corner as nobody want to use them anymore now that we have FTDI and Keyspan adapter). Regards, Rodolphe -- | Rodolp

I agree with Dave on this. and this is not just for people using Windows. I use Mac OS X and the prolific drivers (and adapter) are horrible (they randomly drop data in the transmission). Stick with F
