Belated thanks to bguerin1234
Good idea Joe, I'll try switching from tape to an o-ring on the shaft, I also use an o-ring on my SPL eyepieces as a bumper in the diagonal, that wasn't my idea either but it works great. Brian wrote:

Hi Javier, This subject came up last year about this time, Mach1 owners were commenting on how "stiff" the RA and DEC axis's were on the Mach1 and how this made balancing difficult. I got my Mach1 a y

How to measure amps, please?
I have posted to the files section a very simple diagram of how to hook up a multimeter to a Mach1 cigarette plug power cord for balancing your RA/DEC axis. I recommend using a digital multimeter. Bri

Pls help- balancing with an ammeter
Paul, I used a digital amp meter and the slightest change in CW or OTA weight changed the amp reading. Read my comment in "Switched Power" post, luckily I have access to some great electrical advise.

Paul, I'm far from knowledgable about electrical circuits. I had one of our airplane mechanics explain the procedure to me, set up the amp meter and draw me a diagram. I can fax you that diagram, it's

I just got my Mach1 last week and it really is an incredible mount. For the M250 owners I thought I would post my setup experience. First of all you will require two 18 lb CW's with the short 10.7"x 1
