The Socket CSA is 2" or less in size, and can get its power from Pin 9 ... you can wire pin 9 on your mount with 5 volts. The adaptor doesn't seem to stick out any further than a DB9 would .... I don'

AP 1200 and Tpoint
Dave: the whole point of using TPoint is that it fixes repeatable error. It will guide you in getting polar aligned, and will compensate for non-orthogonality, etc. There is no reason to "turn it off"
