Can you start making some smaller RC’s😀Thanks for the suggestion. One of the problems is how sensitive the CMOS cameras are. It is very easy to blow out stars. With my FSQ at f/5 I can’t shoot over 2

So, would you say the new advantages of the small pixel CMOS cameras is that they bring high sensitivity to small pixels? I also got a shot of the Running Man with the 1600mm setup: https://pbase.com/

Thanks Roland. My last dark sky outing was my first use of this scope and camera. I am really confused on the whole image scale question. I bought this camera because it has the largest pixels of any

Thanks Roland. I saw a few slight football shapes in the image but looking back I am wondering if those are actually double stars stacked on top of each other. Robert

M81-82 with AP CCDT67
I just started using an 8 inch RC and tried the CCDT67 on it. I spaced it for 67% bringing the f/8 1620mm scope to F/5.3 1075mm. I really like it and it ends up acting as a flattener to some degree. M

Thanks Don. I have shot the Crescent a few times and always have trouble with it. It needs a lot of exposure and I have never given it near enough time. All my images are on the following: https://pba

Ok, so I took your comments to heart and modified it. I had actually combined parts of 3 versions to make this one. So I made a new version and brought in the nebulosity from the original version to k

Thanks. I played with that and it does eliminate the overall brightness of some of the nebulosity. Calibrated monitors still vary some so we may not be seeing it the same.

This is my first mosaic. It is really hard to get the backgrounds the same. This was a lot work. This is with my new ZWO CMOS OSC camera. https://pbase.com/rchozick/image/170099599 Robert Chozick rcho

Mach2 price and specs are now on the AP website
Ty, you can always buy a used 900 or Mach1. I think the 900 or 1100 are much more portable than the Mach 1. I have trouble lifting a Mach 1 whereas the split pieces of the 900 or 1100 are each lighter

NGC 7000 with CMOS camera
I did some research and talked to my friend about it. I think the issue is that bias in a CMOS is more variable than in a CCD. I saw a graph, shown below, that shows you need at least a .3 sec exposur
