How often do you need to polar align a permanent mount?
I just chatted with them just now, and they wanted to clarify they don't necessarily agree with a blanket statement "the more precise the PA the better" Polar alignment error is only a problem when it

APCC Pro and ASCOM
Just to clarify I think Ray posted the 6.5SP1 beta (not the prior 6.4 version), but the SP1 beta also works with APCC

Do NOT use ASCOM Platform v. 6.5 with APCC Pro
#APCC
#ASCOM_V2_Driver
I think that was 2nd version of release candidate for 6.5 platform. then the 6.5 release happened, which superseded that. 6.5 SP1 beta is after this initial release

Hi John i think the explanation is covered in the PHD documentation, which i've pasted below Your mount reports side-of-pier, so PHD knows to flip the calibration when you do a meridian flip. you woul

zwo also sells a helical non-rotating focuser, I'm not sure if it meets your specs I think i have one of those hutech helical focusers i'm not using if that's the path you choose Brian

"Bump guiding" question - FU question from Roland's experience
For our AP1600AE with a large APCC tracking model installed, can we experiment adding bump guiding using a much smaller attached guidescope? (the 'guide every 10 seconds' approach we were discussing)

i had my 1600 set to 3 seconds, but we'll see if the added settle time makes a difference the slew speed can also affect this, and the 1600 slews pretty fast! i may look at slowing that down as well i
