Multi-star guiding
indeed it should be a good test! as I mentioned before (and i just saw a few more confirmations of this) it looks like a 10-15% improvement in guiding accuracy (i'm talking PHD2 multi-star specificall

Hi Lee afaik pressure doesn't really make much of a difference for model accuracy. Temperature is the real variable there Brian

AP1100 GTO with AE installed today - but newbie question
#Absolute_Encoders
Shailesh you can do a simple comparison 1. Take a 5 minute sub (or whatever longer exposure) with encoders on. 2. Next disable the encoders in APCC 3. Take another sub of the same length 4. Compare tw

APPM: model start and point by azimuth /altitude
#APCC
Hi Andrea In my experience APPM does not work that way at all, but it's much easier. You define a set of points in the sky, run the model, sit back and it finishes. You only get one shot at the model

Can't Connect To CP4
I don't know if it's better/same, but USB is definitely easier for us

It sounds like a good idea... but you will get a handful of fails around the bright moon if you are going to go through the effort of building a large model to keep for a while, my experience suggests

#APCC Pro and Polar alignment on
#Mach2GTO
#APCC
Although I wouldn't recommend it, our first setup polar alignment was several *hundred* arcmin off and APCC was still able to correct it reasonably well.

Hi Mike generally you want the intersection of celestial equator and meridian. you want to avoid low altitude and near the poles exposure time doesn't matter as much - a few seconds is fine regarding

Results of our AP1600ae unguided imaging
Hi Ray >>>. I think this is with the declination-arc tracking rate option in APCC, correct? yes that's correct. As you know, this additional option is as simple as turning on a checkbox.

Dale Just to clarify, you *did* switch to their stepper motor driver from the Optec? I have the UPBv2 but i haven't used that part of it. i haven't even considered switching to that because - like you

Alex if you are doing a telescope-top plate with all your accessories, you might consider something like a pegsus astro Ultimate powerbox, which includes port-managed USB, power outputs, etc. very han
