Recomended guiding software
Rolando, I use TSX (and CCDSoft5 + TS6 before that) and my opinion is that it is a superb autoguiding solution. With TSX you get mount and camera control in one (vs. CCDSoft5 which was only camera con

Does pulse guide work with CCDSoft?
Tom, I believe that DirectGuide is for the Bisque mounts only. I think you need PulseGuide or Relays with CCDSoft5 and an AP mount. I've used PulseGuide with my AP900GTO and TSX but not recently. Did

Should guiding be at 1x sidereal for all AP mounts?
I've gotten it to work in the past. I think you should be looking in the V2 driver for Pulse Guide and that path leads to elimination of the cable. That was with my CP2 and AP900GTO and TSX. I think i

AP1100's is pointing off a little bit from time to time.
The two things that come to mind quickly are: 1) how is the mount supported? Tripod on dirt? Permanent pier? It could be that your mount is losing polar alignment if the ground is shifting under it an

Tracking Rate
I am sure Rolando's answer is the right one. I have had exactly this happen and it turned out my cable was NOT an autoguider cable so you are apply a constant voltage to one of the motors. Stuart Hegg

Mach 1 tracking problem
I'm sure I missed some earlier posts but this sounds like you have the wrong tracking rate set not PE. What tracking rate are you using? If you've picked lunar or solar then that for sure would cause

New Owner Introduction and Question
That would definitely do it! I had a similar problem long ago when I set up my mount in TheSkyX. My town has the same name as one in India at the same latitude. Guess which one I picked by accident. L

New Owner Introduction and Question
Charles, just a guess but I would expect that if this is the first time you put a scope on that mount that you had a 50/50 chance of putting the objective on the same end of the saddle as the previous

Ben, I'm running twin rigs now (again). I suggest practicing hanging wallpaper with one hand tied behind your back. That skill will come in handy. ;-) Stuart Heggie http://www.stuartheggie.com/feature
