Recommended lubricant
Goes without saying ... be sure to use eye protection (goggles), when the toothbrush spritzes solvent all over the place. Otherwise your “seeing” will be ruined. Joe

Are we wearing down half the mount worm wheel?
Larry, I doubt that the worm wheel’s “wearing-in” process over the years of use, requires a new PEC, since any unexpected bumps in the motion are not accounted for in a PEC curve creation anyway. PemP

Guiding a mach1 - and pec?
Hi Rolando, I have been keeping my silence on this topic of PemPro PEC curve cycle overlap, but I have a concern about the discussion on curve overlap. I always do 10 cycles, and none of my curves EVE

Update to odd tracking/RA behavior
Mike, Assuming you replaced the original PS with a new “PYRAMID PS-9KX” (13.8 vdc @ 5 amp steady current, & 7 amp max), its 4-page document says: Have you checked how much current is being drawn from

Odd tracking/guiding behavior
Mike, Is there an OPTEC log which might indicate very minor rotator compensation, (due to the STL series cameras (chin) balance offset), trying to stay on-angle? Do some runs with rotator powered off.

Steve, Was the hand paddle out in the rain? Maybe it needs drying out as well, since the mount seems fine now under ACP control. Bring in the Y-cable for a full dry out – maybe drop it in a jar with d

Geert, I agree – but I just put up with the warning, since it really only comes up once a session, when I purposely use Park-1 for setup. Perhaps one solution would be to add an information, or check
