Strain wave gear PEC limitations
I think there may be a way to do effective PEC with a strain wave gear. Basically, characterize at least 180° and maybe even all 360° of the gear with a tracking compensation data set. Not a big deal

Yikes! The hottest I have ever seen here in Waikoloa is 92F and the nights are usually between 65 and 80. I think I'll stick with Hawaii! Not to mention that I am at 19 degrees North Latitude and can

Tripod mounting of 1600GTO
The LX200-16 tripod will work without much effort but it isn't very pretty or versatile. I have one so I am speaking from experience. It would be very simple to place the AP 1612FSA Flat Surface Adapt

One thing I do is to set all of my astro-devices that have timing to UT with no DST. Observatory PC's, imaging PC's, hand controllers, etc. In observatories I like to have clocks showing LT, UT and ST

To me, some of the possibilities are: 1. Orthogonality/Cone-error. 2. Corrupted hand controller. 3. Misconfigured hand controller. 4. OTA/attachment mech problem. 5. Motor optical encoder problem. 6.
