Dropping a Mach 1.0...
This may be paranoia on my part, but I recently returned from a star party and being super tired, I placed my Mach 1.0 on top of the nearest flat surface in my garage that just happened to be a picnic

Thanks Roland - t he technique that worked for me was to look at the 13th magnitude star adjacent to the ring and to focus in and out very slightly using averted vision on the central area. A little b

Thanks Roland - yes I actually spotted the central star at the OSP a few years ago with the 10" Mak Cass. It would just flicker into vision (and often out again!) when ones vision was averted slightly

Hi Wayne, I will be at the OSP with an AP1200 and most likely my 10" AP Mak-Cass. (I am also one of the Friday night speakers) Chris Ford

Lodestar Guider Stops Mach1 Tracking
Why don't you just use your lodestar with PHD? It's free, easy to use, and fully supported. I would use this combination with my Mach 1.0 over CCDSoft any day. At the most it is an extra cable. Chris

Need Help on Mount Decision
I would agree with the open design and simplicity aspects of the AP1200. It interfaces with pretty much anything. Also if you want the flexibility of portability the AP1200 is an easier mount to move

The scope is not orthogonal to the mount. The mount is probably pointing correctly, but the scope is off by twice its orthogonal error. Rolando

Slewing accuracy question (Mach 1.0)
I have a question about the slewing/aiming accuracy of my new Mach 1.0. Last night I set up my telescope to a high focal ratio equivalent of F/32 (via Powermate) and to focus (with a Bahtinov mask) I

Yes, I see this vignetting on my AP1200 as well which can make it harder to see the second and especially third stars. I wish AP could make a better and more accurate polar scope which is hardly pushi

Which adapter spacer is correct? ADATCCEOS?
Hi Rick, Slightly confused. Are you using the (brand new) ADATCCEOS with a 160 of 155? I have tried my new ADATCCEOS with my 160TCC and it seems to work fine at least from my preliminary test shots. O
