Cold temps
I have used my AP1200 on at least a hundred nights between -10F and 0F for hours each session. The only thing I've ever noticed is my mount motors start to squeal and warble during the first few slews

Great information, Barry. Thanks. Most clearn nights here are -15F to 5F (-26C to -15C) most cables are a royal PITA at these temperatures. I think the best thing possible would be to run only DC powe

1200GTO RA Drive Problem
Is it getting cold there? I was using my 1200GTO at -15F the other day and it was singing like a warbler song bird.

Does APPM models help with guiding?
From the manual: Because of flexure, polar misalignment, refraction, and other effects, the apparent tracking rate of stars and deep sky objects in the sky is not exactly equal to the sidereal rate. T

Ron > absent a workable guiding system with active PID tuning Is there software right now that uses PID to refine the guiding settings whilst guiding? (Or to refine guiding settings by studying logs?)

AP1200GTO Re-greasing project
Scott, thanks for sharing the video. Maybe I'll go after mine now. For my -25F to 25F typical use environment, is this the right grease? Remember to re-do your PEC : )

Electrical Grounding Advice - should I worry about it?
So by putting 10 megs across the supply (you say in strategic locations), like at the source and on the power cable of the mount? They both are kept bled of any static buildup?

Powered USB hub
I haven't had any more squirrley USB issues since using Tripp-lite USB active cables to get from computer to pier. I have an active (cheap) hub on the end of one of them.
