Re: ethernet connection troubles

Thanks Roland, but it doesn't work either.

And strangely enough, it only works when I select an automatic address (network and sharing, IPv4, DHCP) and at this time the address of the mount is well identified (by "Set up telescope" and “APCC") .... Surprising!

But when I manually indicate this address (IPv4) of the mount, the mount is never recognized ... (?!) ...

Do you have any idea what might be going on?

Thank you.

Hi, I need some help.
For the past few days, I can no longer connect the GTOCP4 by Ethernet (Windows 10 OS, APV2 v5.30.09, APCC Pro v1.8.0.5). Several tests carried out with different cables without results, the connection by Ping (cmd: ping address) allowed me to check the good reception.
Do you have any suggestions to correct this situation, thank you.

You guys are great.  During development, we very seriously considered naming it the Mach2 Challenger.  We had loads of reasons – it will challenge your perception of what a mount can do, it’s gorgeous and sexy (like the Dodge Challenger), etc, etc.  But we decided against it because we were loath to be even remotely disrespectful of the amazing men and women who died in the Challenger Space Shuttle.  With that said, after the month we’ve just put in and looking at the weeks/months ahead, I’m voting for the Challenge Edition. ;-)

When you expand the driver notice there is a checkbox that says "Expand windows to show all controls". You must have enabled that checkbox somehow. Try unchecking it. :-)

Hello All,

I hope you all are doing well in these difficult times!.. Tonight I updated the Ascom V2 to the latest version
(5.30.09) and I noted, after connecting the mount to the laptop, that it is not possible to shrink back the
maximized window opened when clicking the EXPAND>>>>>>> button. In previous versions, the shirk button
used to show up right beside the EXPAND>>>>> button when clicking it but not anymore. Was this feature
eliminated? It's quite annoying to have the full window open in the laptop screen.

Thanks a stay safe and healthy!
Diego

Hi Rick,
In the V2 driver there is a check box option to ‘Use RCAL for Syncs’, so just have that box ticked.

Dear All,

I am doing counterweight up imaging to extend tracking time; in the hand controller manual, we are told never to "synch" with CW up, but rather to "re-calibrate" to improve pointing accuracy.

But I'm not using the hand controller; I'm imaging with my computer set-up, with APCC running along with all the other necessary software for acquisition, guiding, ....

Is there an equivalent to "re-calibrate" in APCC (or elsewhere)?  I am trying to improve go-to accuracy in the CW up position.

Currently, I'm "synching" on some bright star CW down, and slewing to my object with a meridian delay so I achieve CW up, but with marginal accuracy (at best; I have to plate solve to figure out where I am, and this can fail if I'm too far away from the "supposed" RA and Dec coordinates).

Many thanks,

Coming from a pathology background I wouldn’t saddle anything as great as an A-P mount with such a dubious label. I’d vote for something like “freedom edition”.

Thank you for the update.  I've never had an issue waiting but this COVID-19 is driving me stir crazy.  It feels good to have something to look forward too.   You might need to add a virus sticker someplace on it so that we never forgot the world this mount was created into.

You can "sync" thru APCC, it won't cause a problem even if you are upside down.

The dome logic has not changed in APPM for a very long time (several years). Likely something else down the line has changed, like the dome control software.
