I agree, give George at AP a call. He recommended their grease kit for my 900 I had a while back. It's comes with two types of grease for the gears and worms. It's a good kit to have.

When was the last time you cleaned and re lubed the RA and Dec gear trains. If it has been awhile I would service the gear boxes and worm gears. AP has a very nice grease kit. Maybe Marj can

Take off the nylon gear and and the aluminum gear underneath. Have a look at the small gear underneath the big aluminum gear. Could be that small gear is detached from the larger aluminum one.

Help! I just crashed my new 1100 into my step ladder!
Mistakes were made.
Short version, I had a small 3-step kitchen ladder near my scope that I had been up and down a hundred times working on collimation. Tonight I went to fire off a pointing model and

Hi Michael.
The link I provide just now is not to the apcc installers but to the nasa web site. They are entirely different things.

Hi neyle ,
I have no idea why it would not open on your computer. It is probably related to a problematic Windows update.
However, here is the link:

Mach2 and Horizons
Last night I was able to image for 6 hours or so, including some imaging of Atlas C/2019 Y4. I used the opportunity to try out the Horizons software, so I downloaded the ephemeris data for Atlas.

The part that I think needlessly worried you is that after a plate solve + recal you expected the mount to return exactly to the marks where it started. If the plate solve + sync changes

Re: Recommended APCC initialization sequence for portable setups
Hi Cytan,
I don't think it matters, but I would use the second way. You can have APCC turn off tracking after unparking from the Park tab if you don't want tracking enabled. The option is a checkbox
