I'm also considering a MeanWell LRS-100 series that produces 15V @ 7A.
Has anyone used one of these?
Yes, this is a fine power supply and will work for your mount.

Subject: [ap-gto] AP1200 power supply recommendation

I've been using a Pyramid PS-32LAB power supply for my AP1200 since
2008, but it recently has developed some serious issues. Normally the
voltage is set to 15V, but now it's all over the place. When powered-up,
sometimes it's 10V and today it was 5V. Needless to say, the AP1200
doesn't run at these voltages.

Has anyone experienced this issue, and/or has information about what
might be wrong internally? I can replace a part if I know what to look for.

Alternatively, I'm considering a replacement, such as the Pyramid PS7KX
13.8V 5A supply. It has an internal potentiometer that I'm told can
adjust the output voltage slightly (the specs say +/- 0.3V). I think the
mount would work fine at 14.1V, even in cold weather (I slew at 600X).

Does anyone have an opinion on this supply?

I'm also considering a MeanWell LRS-100 series that produces 15V @ 7A.
Has anyone used one of these?

Thanks for all information and suggestions.

It looks like a 640px scaled down image to me.

Either way, it is probably best to just post links to astrobin or flickr or whatever. No need to burden AP's account or people's email service with posting huge images.

Re: GTOCP3 Firmware

I am certain it is not incorrect in the keypad the ephemeris in the keypad has never been changed since its inception. What is probably incorrect is date, time or location which you put into the keypad.

If that is the case, looks like I need an update to the keypad firmware.

Marj,

I as I previously related to you, in the groups I am an owner or moderator of, we elected to not allow attachments to posts for the same reason Joe mentions.  We also decided to limit the size resolution of photos posted to the PHOTO section to reducer demands on the 10GB data cap of the Premium plan.  We are also considering restricting posting of photos to JPG format for the same reason.  Many members have Flickr accounts and post their images there at full resolution and in any format permitted and then they provide a link to their album in the messages so members can review them there and not overload Groups.io.

Yours truly,

I don’t think you need an “alias”, to do what you needed

The email address that I have set up for receiving group mail  is not the same as the address that’s used when I reply to a message here.  For that reason, I do require an alias (which is offered specifically for that purpose).  I may be the only one here with an oddball configuration like that, but I mentioned it just in case it helps someone.

Hi,

Actually, the recent Group massive import, using their special transfer program, has resulted in a few changes.

We no longer see the poster’s actual email address in brackets beside his name tag. That was nice to see if we wanted to reply off-list  personally to the poster.  This was also a new security feature that Yahoo joined a few years ago, to lessen the chance of reading Spam, and other kinds of subversive emails. Seems Groups.IO isn’t following that international internet agreement. Initially, we just see our posts identified by the default name of our previous Yahoo account name tag – rather than a personal name.

That can easily be fixed by logging in, click on your account name in the header, choose ACCOUNT then IDENTITY to change your identifying tag. I chose to switch to my actual name rather than the former  moniker.

Then you can also click on PREFERENCES, to change the email address you wish to use and password, if it isn’t the original moniker identifying you on the group, you once used in Yahoo group. So, I don’t think you need an “alias”, to do what you needed. but, that is just a part of the new learning curve, and getting used to our new house here. Should check every room in the new digs   :-)

The transfer program has been well thought out,  pretty clean, relatively quick, and easy for the group owners. All in all, a pretty slick process, for everyone involved. However, I am not at all happy with the weakly implemented Files & Photos,  “Search Engine” – but that will surely improve, after the current Yahoo crisis.

Well, that was easy.

I was already set up on groups.io, since Optec moved their forums there a few days ago.  I assumed that I’d need to go in and set it up to send me email, but it kept my preferences from Yahoo Groups.  I didn’t need to do anything, and I’m getting emails just as it’s been working all along.

Slick!

Addendum:  Well, it wasn’t quite that easy.  The email address that I send from is different than the one that is registered with groups.io.  Yahoo didn’t care about this, but groups.io was bouncing my replies here, until I added my outgoing address as an alias on my account.

Hi,

I have an AP 1100GTO mount with CP4.  I have been trying to configure the wifi settings of the CP4 and it won't show up in the available networks on my tablet or laptop.  Does anyone know why it won't show up?  I can't configure it without having access to its web page.  I am probably missing the obvious but I hope someone can explain how I can get to the web page to configure it either through Ethernet or wireless but neither is working so maybe I have it connected incorrectly.  I have read the manual a while ago but now I am only referring to it.

The reason I am trying to get access is because I have been using Sky Safari on my tablet to control the mount, but I was getting a lot of disconnects.  I wondered if it was a weak signal since I am outside in my backyard.  So I bought an extender which does boost the signal but now I can’t connect the mount, because I think it uses a different IP address.  I want to access the CP4 web page to address this.

Thanks very much, Kent
