According to Powerwerx, the smallest ga. wire you can crimp to the smallest 15 amp PP connectors is #20. I use #18 as my minimum wire gauge. Powerwerx says the smallest 15 amp crimps are for 20ga.

I believe you have what we call is a BAD connection! My PP connections are rock solid. I can pull hard on the cables and they continue to make good contact – and of course don’t pull

I use those U-clips in some applications where I seldom or never take the connectors apart, but the other connectors are plugged in and disconnected every time
