It's the goto software...
If polar alignment is not accurate, goto will not be accurate.
I complained about this quite sometime ago and was told that it was doubtful
that it would change. It has been awhile, but IIRC, there

Polar alignment does improve tracking... but it also "teaches" the mount where
it is - call that point A - so that it can get from point A to any other point.

I think the article speaks for it's self! Doesn't say much for JPL either.
I wouldn't put my name behind such a piece, "puff piece" or not, goes to
credibility. There's simply no excuse. I don't know

I just tried it with the 600EGTO while looking at sunspost with the 130
f/8.3. I didn't give it an extensive workout, but it seemed fine. I bought
both power supplies so I could separate the dew

The reviewer is not an idiot by any means. I happen to know him as does
almost anyone whose attended RTMC. IIRC he's an active ATM and a staff
astronomer with JPL. I am not sure what exactly he was
