I’m sure AP has the dimensions but what I would probably do is buy a safety stop for $35 (in stock at AP) and give it to the machinist to match.

Try increasing the timeout value in APCC to see if that reduces packet loss. It may be that the packets are not lost but are not being returned or processed quite fast enough.
