There are issues with USB that have bit me in this hobby. The first is the length limitation. I image while sitting in my house and that is too far for USB, but no problem for serial (or ethernet). I

Since almost no computer today provides a serial interface we all need to use some type of serial converter. I suspect that the majority of people use a USB to serial converter. If there is a problem

I have been calibrating the STV at what ever guide rate I plan on using,
usually .5x so I will try calibrating at 1x next time.

Roland insists we should use 1x for guiding. I use that. I agree, as long as the exposure times are short and the seeing decent, high agression is okay but it needs to be backed off if the guide times
