Re: Another USB/Serial adaptor tested
I have used the IOGEAR converters for some time now. I am not sure which chip they have inside but they always worked fine for me with: Win 98, ME and now XP.

That's correct, Dale. Keyspan uses the Prolific set.
The ones that Hap Griffin sells on his site are very simple, but work
well. They use the Prolific set, too.

Can you name off some adaptors that have the FTDI chip?

Hi Dale,
Is it using the Prolific or FTDI chip set? You can check in the
Windows driver properties. If the driver name starts with anything

Hi POP!
The mounting holes in the Mach1GTO's dec hub plate are 1/4"-20tpi tapped
holes. Your plate will need 1/4" through-holes. They are in a 3.200"
bolt circle at 90 degree intervals: 45;

Re: On the subject of serial ports...
I don't see why it wouldn't work, protocol-wise. This mini port replicator is essentially a standard USB hub. The only sticking point would be the additional power draw.

Dale,
Have you tried connecting a USB to Serial adapter to one of the USB

On the subject of serial ports...
I got my first AP mount this week (huzzah!) and can confirm that the Keyspan UPR-112 "Mini Port Replicator"[1] works fine with the GTOCP3. Confirmed in both Mac and Windows.
What I think is nice

Phil:
You should be using a straight thru serial cable.
The problem is probably your USB to serial converter, not all on the market
work for this application.
You should try different Com ports, I
