I just use a heavy duty tarp from a local hardware store and a large bungee
cord wrapped around the body of the mount to keep the tarp held down. This
has worked great for years on my mount and

Telegizmo scope cover underneath for last 5 years. It has survived a
tropical Storm, an average humidity of more than 80%

re daytime alignment
If you follow the instructions in the manual you do not need
any instrument to adjust your inclination. I use that and it is
very good. I can check it with a digital level I have that reads
to a tenth

I won't be bringing my AP mount to the
eclipse. It's just too big. 8) I'm using an old
Vista camtrak and it has no altitude gauges.

I live in Phoenix AZ and I leave my mount outside frequently. I cover it with a large 30 gallon plastic garbage can wrapped in silver bubble wrap insulation (to help reflect the extreme heat here).

to get the inclinometer into it's more accurate range.
