Hehe... the logic behind why it works the way it does is a little confusing

Hi Ray,
Yes, you did but it was easy to overlook and misinterpret which is why
I asked. I guess it should have been more obviously described as slew
rate instead of just "rate" for the button presses

Hi Rick,
When you press a N/S/E/W/etc. button in PulseGuide the rate gets changes to
the button rate set in Pulseguide. When you release the movement button the
rate is restored to the GUIDE RATE

Cable recommendation?
I am having trouble with Pulseguide not always sending to the mount.
FFor example sometimes changing button rates doesn't take. I suspect
the problem is dodgy cables.

I think the fixed AP plate is your problem.
While it is certainly sturdy, it limits shifting the OTA further forward.
Of course, even if you changed it out for a shorter, off center 'saddle' like
