GPS time
I haven't been in this forum for a while, so I missed the whole GPS discussion. There is
one reason that I would like support for a GPS, to keep accurate time. I am not interested
in position data

Yea, Mike. Set them to 0 and let the mount itself handle the limits.... That's the safest and easiest way to go ad well.

I imagine Maxpoint has two different strategies for computing the
corrected location of a star, based on whether it's in the same, or
the oppposite, hemisphere of the current RA/DEC coords.

Any time that your scope has gone past the meridian, if you issue a GoTo
command to the same object, the scope will flip. 1 second past, 1 minute past, 1
hour past, makes no difference.

Uploaded the A-P 4.12 firmware to my AP1200 GTOCP3. The process to the mount took about 20mins to complete. Everything is running fine now, still no known reason why or what happened to require
