PS. According to Heavens-Above, perihelion was Sept 15/2008 which suggests that it is
now moving away from the sun.

Thanks for the heads-up surrounding this bright comet. I just took a quick look at the
ephemeris and it seems to be a slow mover, thus allowing for extended exposures.

amount of backlash in RA that is the likely culprit. Being new

happen when I click on the button to move it. The initialie on the
conection tab does fix it and put it back the way it

The fact the mount does not know/care where it is mechanically makes perfect sense. I was thinking it might be a balance issue for that part of the sky.

Pulse Guide problem
I think there is an issue with the current version 1.37 so I was
wondering if others had the same issus.
If I change the slew rate from 600 to 64 so I can move the scope
around, my guide rate gets

GTO gurus:
I just noticed a problem with my Mach1 a few nights ago where the
mount seems to "jump" in RA by about 1 arcminute within 5 seconds or
