Re: Levels for Park setup
Correction:
Scratch the “magnet” feature !
– Forgot ... doesn’t work on an AP-900 “Stainless Steel” shaft, which isn’t paramagnetic :-(
I just tested it on the store’s display

Levels for Park setup
Hi Roland,
You mentioned that you just use a”cheap” level to setup the mount in Park-1.
I have been doing the same, and finally got tired of the cheap level not quite indicating the same way

I do what Rolland suggests when finishing a session. I park at park 3 then tear down. When I reassemble for another session, I use a level and compass to position the pier, re-assemble the mount

Re: switching to daylight-saving time
I have a Mach1 in a remote observatory. After a few surprises, in particular with respect to parking the scope after a dst switch, I simply unchecked the daylight savings option in the observatory PC.

It's that time of the year again... this saturday night.
It's the first time I'll be experiencing this with the mach1, and I'll be in the field on saturday night, so I'm wondering what I should expect

Hi Suresh
I have actually been in Southern India and know how insane the mountain /
desert climate will look for you ;-)
The highest I have operated my equipment was around 2000m above sea level

"A new discovery" I know the odds are against it, but you certainly demonstrate you have the equipment and methodology to do so.
