Re: Dewpoint in subzero (centigrade) conditions
My own CP3 has been outside in my observator for 15 years now in Alaska. From -40F to 95F maximum, from -25F to 80F annually. It has been frosted up many times. Still works like new!

Thanks Brian, I set up REST API last night. Easy and everything worked! I connected APCC to the mount, then allowed the third party apps (Stellarium and Sharpcap) to bring up the V2 driver (I think

yes Brian, thanks. I do bring up APCC first, connect, then connect the driver, then connect the third party apps. I'm just saying I connect the driver right after APCC and before the third parties.

Dale's suggestions are always at least slightly better than mine ;)
I'm going to update my process with his additional settings

Re: REST API - APV2 Driver Can't Find Mount.
I do similar as Brian. I go a step further and launch APCC automatically on boot, from Windows' Startup Apps. I leave the auto-connect to mount option off, though, because it might not always be on or

Re: REST API - APV2 Driver Can't Find Mount.
Hi Steve
My preferred approach which I think is close to the recommended approach:
- I use REST API for connection between APCC and ASCOM
- launch APCC and connect to mount
- click connect on mount

Re: REST API - APV2 Driver Can't Find Mount.
Just my 2 cents......I use APCC, APV2, Sharpcap, and Stellarium. I launch APCC, hit the connect button, then hit the connect button for the driver like Emelio use to do. Then I launch Sharpcap and

There still may be some weirdness with what was gong on, but everythign is very stable and steady now. I just don't launch the driver. The software is well worth the money spent. Lots

Hi Emelio,
The solution you described could not have been the problem. It had to be something else. APCC acts as an ASCOM client when you press the button to connect. The reason for this button is

Re: REST API - APV2 Driver Can't Find Mount.
Emilio
The driver comes included with all A-P mounts. APCC does not. Hence, some users choose to control the mount with the driver only along with a star chart programs, e.g. SKYX or Cartes du Ciel.

Re: Dewpoint in subzero (centigrade) conditions
I agree. I had an AP900GTO in a non-temp controlled roll-off shed here in Canada for years with no ill effect on the equipment. I agree also that you should try and protect the CPx from moisture

I resolved this by simply not doing something stupid.
Ever since I have owned AP mounts and APCC, I have connected without much thought whichever way it seemed to work. I would launch APCC and
