Robert, Linwood and Tom,
Thanks for the suggestions. I have a lot to learn about processing. I agree with PixInsight developers that do not encourage artistic modifications. I need to go back to

Re: AP-1100 Guiding Questions
Horia,
What does your Dec drift look like if you turn guiding off? Most of your guiding corrections appear to be in one direction, which could indicate poor polar alignment.
Best,
Luca

A-P asked that I change the installer to always install/reinstall the Eltima virtual ports because the optional install checkbox was generating support questions about when to enable

Hi Larry/Konstantin,
I have confirmed that this is an issue with the Eltima V10 ActiveX control. It does not work with Windows 7.
However, I made a small installer that will install the Eltima V9

One can do HDR composition with PI. Two sets of photos one at short exposires for the core and one longer. That will give the best of both.
Quite easy to do. I've done it for the trapezium on

I have some PS images that have over 20 layers and many of them have certain parts of the image painted here and there, especially with sharpening. Some of my files are close to four Gb.

Re: M31 with A-P1100GTO-AE mount, TEC 160FL, FRC, and QHY600M-PH camera
If you use Photoshop you can combine the two images in two different ways. You can put one over the other at 50% or some other percentage you want to average the two to get a little bit of both

Larry, this looks like an issue with Windows 7. I'll see if there is anything that can be done, but since Windows 7 is no longer supported, this may mean you will need to upgrade Windows if you want
