Re: New file uploaded to ap-gto
That is very nice. Yes, lots of faint galaxies, mostly spirals from what I can see. It looks great. Yes, you are definitely losing some of the faint outer portions of the Ring and by inference

Re: New file uploaded to ap-gto
I stretched the M57 image to show all the galaxies in this area. Limitations include heavy light pollution and rising Moon, however seeing was very good. Exposure was 13 x 600 seconds.

Re: New file uploaded to ap-gto
Thanks, Rolando. If you could use the dropbox site, that would work better for me. That's what we use for guiding-related analysis on the PHD2 forum, and people seem to have no trouble with it.

This is a slightly cropped image just under the limit allowed in the files section. Let me know if this is what you are looking for and if you want, I can post some more.

Re: Unguided imaging with AP mounts
I tried posting the full sized FITs image in the files section but it exceeds 10mb, so cannot post it. I can try cropping the middle part if you want to see it.

I can try posting an image in the files section, but a Fits image is pretty large. I'm not sure that it will post successfully. Are you looking for one image to check the scope focal length? Or do you

Hi Henry,
If you had rainy weather coming, it could be that the seeing was the limiting factor in your auto guiding results. If there is a lot of stellar scintillation then the RMS guiding results

Correction on spelling "remesh the gears". I spelled it right the first time, but I did not notice that the auto spell checker changed it to what it thought it should be.

Re: Polemaster mounting adapter for AP 900/1200 mounts
Alex, in my case none of the adapters would work (AP900) so , like you, I knew I had to build my own adapter. Removing the cost of an adapter I couldn't use seemed like a good thing. Guess you didn't

For balancing I have always had good results with just loosening the clutches and pushing the mount in each direction with my hand and just use touch to balance. That was always just fine, and I have

Re: Polemaster mounting adapter for AP 900/1200 mounts
That's not the case in the UK, there is a universal mount that fits a lot of the EQ mounts which is included as default unless you specify an alternate. I have another mount so I bought the Polemaster
